Did you know that there are over 2,300 golf courses in Japan with more than 1,700 members on average?
Some of the key findings of our Golf Benchmark Survey report include the following:
- Japanese courses have a very high membership base with nearly 1,500 members on avarage at 18-hole facilities.
- Most courses in Japan are open year-round and 18-hole golf courses record about 40,000 rounds per year on average.
- While the average revenue for 18-hole (and equivalent) golf courses in Japan was about USD 5 million in 2008, the profit-revenue ratio was only 10-12%.
- In spite of the current severe economic environment, 80% of respondents from participating golf courses are optimistic about their future performance.
